It’s very clear in the bible that God creates all things perfectly. That was His intention for marriage as well.

In the book “The Divine Romance” (Link here) which is a fictional book based on biblical principles, the author opens your eyes to some of the parallels between marriage to our spouse and Christ’s relationship with the church. The book is sad but enlightening at the same time.  Sad in that God has this unfathomable desire to love us despite the fact we continue to let him down, and enlightening when we realize how amazing marriage can be and what a gift it really is.

Marriage is the most important relationship on earth and Satan hates all things God has created including marriage. More specifically he hates your marriage.  Did you know Satan did not show up on earth until Adam married Eve? And when he showed up, he appeared to be harmless just talking to Eve as a friend. He will do the same in your marriage and you won’t even realize it. Whispering things like your spouse does not appreciate you and that you made a mistake getting married. The lies will start out small and grow into resent.

The best thing you can do is not only pray together but have a Godly circle of friends to counsel you. A circle of friends that support you as a couple as the first priority.
